Zoo Trip 2008

We try to take the kids to the zoo at least once a year. This year Eli was too sick to go, so I was glad we were lucky enough to coordiate the trip with Eli's parents and younger brother-Hyrum, his sister Candi and her kids and his sister Emma and her husband Brad, and his sister Dani and her husband Tom and their kids.

I thought it would be cute to take a picture of the kids each year at the Gorilla shape, so above is Kate last year and below is this year. I tried to do this for Beck to but he kept walking off and then my stroller started rolling down the hill so I guess maybe I'll try again next year.

Dani and Tom will be moving to Denver soon so we are trying to do some fun things with the cousins before they move at the end of the month. Elle was a good baby during the whole experience.
Emma and Brad were great helps with the little ones. Here is Emma helping Kate and Brooke to see the elephants.

Beck was only a few months old last year so this was basically his first zoo trip. He loved all the animals and thought the Bears were dogs. He kept saying "whoa Whoa" which is his word for dog or the sound he thinks they make when they bark. He also really liked the tiger show. He was growling/squealing at the tiger and almost jumped out of Hyrums arms out of excitement.

Poor Byron was sick and rode in the wagon most of the time with the little ones. Later we found out he had appendicitis. He had to have his appendix out the same night his parents planned to celebrate their anniversary. Bummer for Candi and Kelly to have to cancel their anniversary plans, but we are all glad Byron is okay.

Later in the evening, Kate made something out of Mega Blocks and wanted us to guess what it was. These were her clues........

It is something at the zoo.

It has a long tail.

It is colorful.

Any guesses yet?

Eli got it right. He guessed a peacock.

I guess you never know exactly what is going to leave the biggest impressions on your kids or what they will enjoy the most.
